Brief Description of Duties :The Director is responsible for all aspects of management and direction of Long Island s SBDC. As such, the Director plays a central role in the economic development of the region. He/she also plays a central role in the contribution of the University to the economic development of the region. The successful candidate will have outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail; and an ability to solve problems and make effective decisions.
Detailed Description of Duties: The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
Responsible for management of Long Island s SBDC Regional Center at Stony Brook University (SBU):
Budget:
Developing grant proposals for submission for federal, state and local governments. Director will lead the decision on the location of grants, grant writing, and be primarily responsible for the completion of all SBDC grant proposals.
Other duties as assigned as appropriate based on rank and departmental mission.
Special Notes: This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
SUNY implemented a hybrid telecommuting pilot program. This position has been approved to participate in the pilot, which allows for up to 5 remote days per pay period.
